I had a portable toilet in my van with a slide valve seal and a squeeze bulb pump to flush with blue(chemical) water from the bottom, then close the seal. Very primitive, but compact and had a handle to carry it like a jerry can to dump in any sewage system. I got it so we could camp anywhere, even campgrounds requiring you be self contained. However I found we used it most not in the boondocks but in cities and crowded places like race tracks where she'd have to wait in line forever for sketchy toilets.
You've made that fanny your own, what works best for you, so you'll enjoy it much more than trying adapt your lifestyle to somebody else's vision. Smart thinking as always, happy trails to ya.
