I've not been diagnosed with gout, and I'm only about 50% sure what it even is, but...
For the last couple years I've had occasional (but regular) shooting, burning pains around the side of the balls of my feet, near the big toe joint. Pulling a bedsheet across it feels like laying a red hot poker on the side of my foot. Excruciating, at times.
A couple weeks ago I ran across this thread, and Buster's dried cherry prescription. I started eating a handful every few days.
The pain I think is gout, has damn near disappeared. I'd say an 80% reduction in frequency, and probably the same in reduction of felt pain. The shooting, burning, pins & needles in my toes (that I figured is from diebeetus) has lessened by about 50%, as well.
