Tut tut, one does not react to noise from rabble. I'm sure the horse was somewhat acclimated to noise and crowds, but QE is a first class, grade A horsewoman, always in control, even riding sidesaddle.

In the photograph it appears the gun is pointed at the redcoat across the street. I would guess it was just fortuitous spectator snapshot of the queen taken as he raised the gun, but before he fired. Fortunately he was shooting blanks, as QE was 55 at this point and had no need of more heirs.
