First aid now is pretty basic, disinfect and kiss a booboo. More serious shit, stabilize and get to a hospital/clinic/doctor. Back in the 1920s first aid kits were a little more complicated. I'll bet in 1900 they had some really good chemicals, you'd probably die, but wouldn't care.
