I found out about search engines, I guess Google but I'm not sure, from a group of three friends who were running a website design startup (2 of the 3 also worked at the pizza place my best friend and I were at.) He was showing off this amazing new program called Photoshop to make his graphics, and we were duly impressed. Then he told us about search engines. "You can type in anything! I can type in 'shit,' and it will literally bring up a hundred web pages about shit."
Just imagine! A hundred webpages!
