Being a cheese fan, I have to admit I did enjoy Arran cheddar.
It's strong/ mature (sharp) enough to stand out in big thick doorstep sandwiches, but not too overpowering for cheese on toast.
Cheddar isn't my favourite style of cheese by any stretch, but the Arran version is a good one. Holds its own well well with the Island's chutneys., pickles and mustards too.
Very pleased you Merkins have a chance at it - as far as I'm aware there aren't any English chain stores that sell it
Then again, finances (and lack of refrigeration) as they are in my life, I probably wouldn't be buying anyway.
