I went as well, when I was 16. The guides told us that the gas chamber we stood in was never used in that particular camp, but on the internet, there seems to be some debate about that. It was creepy standing in there though.

The ovens were also kind of creepy.

There was a single barracks set up, and foundations for scores more. And a little museum with horrific artifacts, like a vest made out of human skin that one of the Nazis made. Teeth for buttons.

The whole place is pretty depressing, and the mood is somber. Not a fun place to visit. But you feel like it's your duty to go. They opened a holocaust museum in DC a while ago, and I haven't been to that one, because I feel like I paid my dues going to Dachau.
