I once dated a guy who had a real problem with the fact that I was better at an RPG than he was. He was totally fine with me being better at math, and writing, and anything else academic, but I swear to God he had somehow convinced himself that he was using actual muscles to beat the dragon, and not just strategic/tactical choices that didn't even require dexterity or speed. If I could slay the dragon without his help, was he even really a man anymore?
In Hispanic American cultures, there is an interesting phenomenon where computers are considered "woman's work." Real men don't use technology, according to them, because it's easier than real work, and I think they may be onto something when it comes to the men knowing what will and will not satisfy their urges.
