Balance of Power

In terms of tourism and international appeal, there has always been a delicate balance of power between Britain and France. Britain has been able to lure in tourists to see the pageantry and majesty of one of 'old Europes' oldest remaining monarchies.

The French have been able to offer decent, and sometimes exceptional food. Cuisine is, after all a French word, and the term 'English cuisine' is one of the great oxymorons of all time.

Until this man came along:

Jamie Oliver, an English chef, has upset this delicate balance of power by becoming something of a sensation. He is apparently very popular with the French.

It would make perfect sense that the French would feel the need to establish a monarchy to restore the balance.
