I think in this case her first life was not very fulfilling to begin with
I tried out Second Life on her recommendation, but it just wasn't interesting enough to me. All these things are just avatar chat with more interesting avatars and a set of economic and other rules. They need to create more interesting atmospheres for encouraging social interaction.
But, for the people who like avatar chat, this is the sort of thing they will like.
