OK, at that level you can include the "tree huggers" of the Pacific NW,
who climbed into trees to prevent lumber companies from clear-cutting old-growth timber.
There were a couple of incidents of heavy logging equipment being vandalized.
Strangely, when the tree huggers came down the day the issue was being heard in court,
that night the tree was mysteriously "ringed" by a chain saw to kill it.
