Just as there are many flavors of Socialism, what we have in this country now is nowhere near what Adam Smith envisioned as Capitalism.
Are Americans really voting in their 'rational self-interest'? Do current laws really favor what is good for society as a whole?
If we really were living in a "Wealth of Nations" society, and were truly a democratic republic, then everything would be self correcting and wealth would be more distributed.
