Henry, I know she is really smart and probably wont need it, but there is a book by David Burns - Feeling Good, The New Mood Therapy - that helped me A LOT after I surfaced from my stress related breakdown (he also wrote a companion handbook, which actually meant more to me). He is one of the prime developers of Cognitive Therapy. I still use these books from time to time.

CBT is a life changer, but it's work. Feeling Good is an excellent, easy to read book. I recommend it, too.
