Why I have control issues.
Last year, I started a blog-type of personal journal online, and it was housed on my ISP's 10M webspace. Through a Series of Unfortunate Events, I decided it would be prudent to move the site, and my friend said, "Well hey, I have 250M of webspace on my domain, just put it all up here. I'll give you my username and password, and you can keep doing your journal, blah blah." So I did.
Then I created a guild on Dark Age,, and asked him to help me set up the forums and create the keeperofthewatch.maillemaster.com domain name and all that happy crap, which he did. I had just asked him to set up storm's redirect (which he did happily) last week.
Last night is when I noticed there was a problem. The guild folder was gone. I downloaded my journal onto my computer and uploaded some stuff to the journal folder, so I could work on it from work today. I emailed my friend about it.
I got into the server, recreated the guild folder and reuploaded the stuff, and updated the page. I saw my "friend" online so sent him a message, and he did not reply, but logged off. I thought, well, I better download my journal stuff to work, till I can think of a way to change the domain, and work within my ISP's limitations (10Megs per email address).
I tried to login to download my journal to my work and the password to the domain has been changed.
I tried to go to my journal, it's gone.
I tried to go to the guild stuff and it's all gone AGAIN.
I can only assume that it's been deleted. Had I not backed up my journal last night, I would have lost everything. Over a year of personal diary entries. Needless to say I'm not happy.
I guess all I needed to let ya'll know is that the hurricane stuff I had posted for Isabel is no longer going to work, because I need the space to put my other stuff back up. *sigh*
I have the name of the person who I thought was my friend but really tried to screw me over hardcore and nearly succeeded, if anyone wants it, hopefully to do mean and nasty shit to him. PM me.
