Been there done that, albeit for different reasons.
So I won't suggest you
just do it.
Keep the advice bookmarked in your head for when it's less of a stress trigger though.
FTR I have very very fine hair and I have it layered to create the impression of body.
But I have a lot of hair. It won't do anything of its own accord but the layers make it easier to wrangle into a semblance of life. Unless layering means something different over here.
