That's certainly what I thought.
I think that our government, our people, and our economy were looking for a nice, good war to spur things on. Problem is, against what? You can't really have a "war on ignorance" and start shooting stupid people (although there are some days I would enjoy seeing that :^)), so you need a real enemy. "Terrorism" isn't perfect, but it's better than anything we've had so far, and gives us the added bonus of giving us our pick of people to shoot at. First the Taliban, then Al Queda, and OBL is always in the background as the evil mastermind who wants to take over the worl. Who's next? The IRA? Those twits in the American south who want to start the Civil War back up? (If I see one more redneck in a beat up pickup truck with a confederate flag in his back window, I might have to shoot 'im.)
Maybe we can go after some teenage street punks with extreme prejudice.
Maybe we can teach our school children to tell their teachers when their parents are saying bad things about America.
Maybe I'm getting a little paranoid.
How many licks does it take to get to the center a juicy conspiracy?
:-)
