There is, reportedly, no way to tell a moth from a
butterfly. Though there are differences of physiology
and habit between them, it is almost impossible to isolate
a single differentiating characteristic that applies
uniformly to both species.
I always thought that moths had feathered antennae, and butterflies didn't. Hm. You learn something new every day....
