Wallabies being much smaller are even more timid. There has been many a time I've heard wallabies and not seen them they are that elusive. Generally speaking you have nothing to worry about. If you wish to pat or see a kangaroo or wallaby close up, many of our wildlife parks have tame ones for you to visit.
