The only job our dog has is to get me up early and out
for a jaunt in that quiet, darkest time before sunrise.
This morning she out did herself.

A sliver of a moon with Mars trailing behind, Jupiter, bright as only Jupiter can be,
and the first onset of the winter night sky... Orion and Sirus.

Central Oregon has clear skies all year long, but here in the Willamette valley
we get to appreciate the seasonal changes.

Damn dogs, they're of no use at all.
