I've 2 sisters - one older (by 8 years) and one younger by five years. My older sis is my best friend, my rock, my twin soul but my better soul. She's been a pediatric nurse forever and now is teaching the next generation of nurses - she's pursuing her PhD. She's uber-intelligent, funny, good-hearted, creative, a crazed animal-lover (she sends money to PETA. When I pointed out that PETA was crazy, she said she was glad they were crazy as people who abused animals were crazy, too, and PETA just evened out the universe) (Oh, she DOES eat meat. Definitely!) She's married with three grown kids - one of whom was adopted from Guatemala. She is the 'successful' one with a beautiful house and many vacations a year. If it weren't for her I would never go anywhere. she's taken me to Key West, NOLA, Myrtle Beach, Cape Cod and Maine. She LOVES a road trip and is good at planning them. She is compassionate and patient. I probably wouldn't be here if not for her and her support.

Little sis smokes so much dope I swear she's Jamaican. We aren't very close though she lives just up the road. Her hubby is a strange bird - very anti-social; never speaks, won't answer the phone, won't answer the doorbell...he hides whenever we (his in-laws) comes over. I think he's schizotypal. She is smart and funny but provincial. She has surrounded herself with idiots so she thinks she's the smartest person in any room; which she very well may be BUT when you surround yourself with idiots...that's easy. We are rather estranged. She has four kids - two of which have neuro problems that I think are completely related to her intake of substances while she was pregnant. this girl smokes a whopping boatload of dope. She works, too, but her job of 10 years will be cut next year. Her husband delivers newspapers. They teeter on the edge.

"Shall I give you a kiss?" Peter asked and, jerking an acorn button off his coat, solemnly presented it to her.
