I'm going out for an early birthday brunch today, just the 3 of us. I get a free brunch if I go in the same month as my birthday.
My actual birthday is next weekend. Since it falls on a Saturday, I am taking everyone to
Shady Maple Smörgåsbord where anyone can get a free birthday meal as long as they show up on the actual day of their birthday (or next day if they are closed). My only regret is that this is not one of their rare 'special' events. The last one, which I missed, was lamb and bison. They also give out a birthday coupon book to the gift shop and farmers market.
BTW, you get a 5% AAA discount at Joe's Crab Shack. I found this out almost by accident. It's not much, but it takes away some of the pain from the check if you're hosting a large party. Never leave a penny unpinched
