And by the way: bullshit to the "fireworks" speculation. Because, like, we've been setting off fireworks for hundreds of years, but there have never been reports of two states experiencing thousands of birds plunging to their death. But ALL OF A SUDDEN...

Or it could have been hail. We've rarely had high-atmosphere hail, or lightning. Birds fall to death in droves way more often than we have lightning or fireworks.

I mean, seriously, when is the last time you saw any birds on either New Year's Eve or Independence Day? They usually stay out of the way, right? They must sit at home grumbling about being stuck inside due to human revelry.

I smell cover-up.
