How sad is it that some people would rather vote for a complete imbecile than risk electing a Democrat?

Of course I'm assuming that human beings by and large are capable of higher functions (such as having priorities in decision making) rather than leaning on the comfortable illusion that those who disagree with me are simple, one-dimensional caricatures.
