Aye, that's heather. Lot of it around. Lot of blackberries and bilberries further up the slopes too. If you go walking up into the really high parts of the valley (further out and back from where i was) you will often see people dotted about the hillsides gathering berries.


Pil loves bouncing through the heather. I am less enamoured of the task of picking out the little bits of it which embed themselves in his fur :P


I'll try and get some shots of it in full bloom later in the year. The gorse looks spectacular as well when it flowers: I've never seen a yellow like it; straight out of a child's paintbox.
