Our volunteer program is crucial in meeting the needs of our organization. Please read the information below explaining our volunteer program.



All volunteer positions begin in Animal Ambassador I. A time commitment of 20 hours is required within three months of the volunteer orientation. Once the 20 hour time commitment is fulfilled a volunteers can attend Animal Handling Training for direct animal interaction. 30 hours of animal handling is required to move to other program areas. There are four shifts to choose from seven days a week: 8:30-10:30am, 12-2pm, 2-4pm, and 4-6pm. You will have the opportunity to schedule your shifts once the background check is complete. Once this time commitment is fulfilled you can move on to other opportunities or continue in this program. Other programs require additional training.



Unfortunately at this time our volunteer orientation dates are full. We will be sending out future orientation dates soon.



Once you have attended the orientation, our office will complete the final step of this process by running your background check.



If you are no longer able to become a volunteer or no longer interested please respond and add ‘DECLINE’ in the subject line of the email. Applications are kept on file for 90 days. After 90 days it may be necessary to submit another online application.
