Awhile back we had a
cat and deer. Now it's the dogs' turn to pass the buck.
Obviously the buck and man know each other, and the little mutt seems more interested in the photographer than the buck.
But the retriever is either new to this, or just can't shake the feeling the buck should be running, and he should be chasing.
Kind of like showing him a Frisbee or a ball, then not throwing it.
