I wasn't paying much attention to the radio a few days ago, but I eventually realised that a book under discussion was a guide to er.......... 18th Century 'ladies of the evening'.
The various services available from each lady were extensively but discreetly catalogued. One girl was noted for her skill in 'playing the silent flute'.
There is no more I can usefully add.
