I saw that the movie 'You Light Up My Life' was on TV a few weeks ago and then realized that I have not heard the title song played on the radio almost since the late 70's when the movie came out.

I went to the ASCAP site to find out if they supply statistics about current royalties collected, but could not find any information.

Is it possible for a song to be so overplayed and ridiculed that it is completely removed from public view?

With so many top 40's songs from the 70's and 80's being replayed, isn't it unusual that I have not heard this song in over 2 decades?
