Boeing is sponsoring a Rose Parade float again this (next) year. They posted on their website, a call for employee volunteers to work on it. They said if you've never worked on any of the previous floats, you would be provided with a tee shirt that says Boeing Float Volunteer. If you worked on previous floats you should still have your tee shirt.
Anyway, they describe it thusly;
This year's 115th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade theme is "Music, Music, Music." Boeing employees were solicited for float ideas, and the "Music of the Spheres" theme (submitted in variations by several employees) was nominated and selected as this year's Boeing float theme. "Music of the Spheres" refers to Pythagoras' theories relating mathematics to music. The float, which is dominated by Pythagoras himself, will feature the tools of mathematics, musical notes of the major scale and celestial charts at the front of the float, and the "abstract" art of musical and planetary movement at the rear. The ratios in the gyroscope that Pythagoras will hold in his hands are those of a major musical scale.
Remember you saw it first in the Cellar.
