Excellent post Brian.

Very disturbing development.

The only problem I have with the porn industry is that quite often (especially the stuff coming in from Russia and eastern Europe)the level of 'consent' is questionable. Beyond that I have no problem with any of it.

I have had arguments with other feminists about porn. I know there is an argument that says it damages how men see women, that it contributes to a culture of women being perceived purely as sexual objects, there for use and conquest. Personally, I think the mainstream media and advertising is more problematic on that score: the sexualising of young girls and the gradual reduction in age of what is considered sexy. I have a much bigger problem with the tradition of dressing young girls in grown-up clothes, singing adult songs and mimicking the sexualised grown-up dances/pouts of older women as happens on the pageant scene, than any hardcore porn film. That is far more damaging to my mind than Debbie Does Dallas or pseudo-rape movies.
