Reminds me of a news story I saw when in Japan. A 55 year old former teacher was being released from prison. He had been working at a reform school/sailing academy for wayward youth, but had beaten to death not one but two students (and two others were missing without trace).
He got five years in prison.
As he was being released, he said words to the effect of "I did nothing wrong. Physical punishment is educational. I am looking forward to
returning to my position at the academy." [my emphasis.]
