Speaking of Marching ... Gen. Patton found a novel way to motivate his troops as they drove through Germany in 1945.
On to Czeckoslovakia! they cried!
Why? Germany was an enemy country, and any fratenization with the civilian population was strictly forbidden. Czeckoslovakia was considered an occupied ally, and so "fraternization" was permitted.
