Boy George was sentenced to 15 months in jail on Friday, The Associated Press reported. This former lead singer of the 1980s hit band Culture Club, whose real name is George O’Dowd, was convicted of falsely imprisoning a male escort by handcuffing him to a wall in a London apartment in 2007. Judge David Radford of Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London said the singer was guilty of “gratuitous violence.” In 2006 he was sentenced to community service with New York City’s Department of Sanitation after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary.
