I think that once the porn industry picked a format, the loser was doomed.
Last year,
Sony snubbed the industry, which was forced to put movies only on HD_DVD or support both formats if they could find another company to make copies.

This was as of late 2007. My guess is that Sony found a way to supply the porn industry.
