That's the difference between having a career and having a job.
With a career you chart career moves balancing success (money & accolades) with working environment (satifaction & lack of hassles).
With a job, it's making enough money to support a life outside of work. It's all well and good to say do something you like but if you can't make enough money doing that, then you have to do what does pay, even if you hate it.
You can find satisfaction sweeping a floor but when you get to the end of the room and someone has already trashed the other end, it's damn frustrating. Been there, done that.
During High School vacations (Christmas, spring, etc.) we'd scrub and wax the school hallways. The hardest part was the black rubber heel mark at the corners which was on our knees and scrub by hand. After vacation I punched more than one asshole making marks for fun.
