As well as chord progression, there is the rhythm and choice of instruments. These two ARE very similar.

And, our national anthem "Advance Australia Fair" can be sung (and sounds better) to the tune of Gilligan's Island. Kind of appropriate really.

And, a philosopher in Melbourne discovered that Saint Anselm's Ontological Argument for the Existence of God could be sung to the tune of Waltzing Matilda.
