Just beautiful classic wood. simple panels, not too fussy. I'm not a fan of painted color in the cabinet- I think solid wood has more staying power.( If you went with glass doors on a few- which is lovely, you could put a sheer color of fabric tension rodded inside if you wanted color and a bit of masking action.) I'd be very careful with tile too, to get something classic, that will not look dated in 10 years. I'd keep the color in areas you can change more easily, like wall and fabric. -and you'll have lots of color going on your stuff- with dishes, curtains, rugs, towels, various kitchen stuffs, so I think simpler cabinets would work better.
Dress them up with some amazing handmade hardware, I could see that looking great. I'm a big fan of compartments- get some creative pull out or turning storage action for the corners- enough for all the big clanky pans-and pull out shelves for the low cabinets. Good task lighting for underneath .
