I had a question that I wanted the answer to. What are the different grades of maple syrup, and what do they mean?

Until 1999, the internet could not answer this question. Basic search showed up, but was hobbled by the fact that there is a programming language was called "maple" and all content on the nets was about that, not about syrup.
