When I was in high school I was watching
Victory on HBO. It centered around a soccer game between allied POWs and their German guards. There was a band playing "Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles" before the game. I had only heard the tune from the Lutheran hymnal I grew up with, so I couldn't figure out why they'd be playing it!
