Bri, i think it is quite obvious that this guy has taken a liking to you and doesn't know how to deal with that. it is hard to say from the few facts you've posted but my guess would be that you aren't affecting his teaching at all, but as he has found himself intrigued and attracted to you he doesn't know how to deal with the fact that he is afraid and doesn't understand the big C, so avoidance is his easiest answer.
