The ants are interesting and I loved the contrast at the end, but did you notice at 0:46 the narrator refers to them as "aliens"? Huh?
It's not so big, though. In Japan there is a species of ant whose colonies allow their nest to connect to the nests of other colonies of the same species. Huge interconnected supernests develop. IIRC correctly sizes of more than 100 square kilometers are found!
And having been in some apparently endless underground shopping malls here, I'm left wondering...
