The last trip I had to the dentist was with a woman. She was very gentle and did a pretty good job from what I can tell. Previous to that, I'd only been to male dentists, and the time lapse between my most recent visit and the one prior to that was about 10yrs. The reason for the time lapse was because I really really loathed and feared going to the dentist because it had always been such a painful and confronting experience.

Thanks to this new dentist, I wont be leaving it so long because it was relatively pain free and she and her nurse were friendly and light hearted which is a trait I find particularly attractive in someone who I think is about to cause me great pain. Hmmmm...very interesting statement that one.

Anyway, I don't know if it was because she is a woman, or if it's just she had a different manner and style than other dentists, but she's given me the courage to entertain the idea of going back to the dentist for a checkup in another 6 months or so.
