Nope. That's just no. People don't show up to interviews that way. The employer wants the automatic respect. I never let anyone get hired that showed up looking like a casual scum-bag that didn't care enough to make the appearance. I worked at a casual place where jeans and t-shirts were standard, when I was a hiring manager, and I think you did the right thing by making an appropriate choice for an interview.
