I suspect there are many such as myself who interject only when they have unique thoughts which are complimentary to the conversation. I suppose that for me it's the distinction between contributing, and just posting. If I feel that my knowledge/opinions/insight on the matter at hand are of little or no value to the reader, I decline the opportunity to waste their time.

But that's just me.
