Probably too late for you, but try the drawers in the kitchen -particularly the cutlery one and the one you sweep everything into when you're expecting visitors.
My son finds underneath the Coinstar machines to be much better hunting ground than the vending machines.
Also, I've noticed there's a handy little box of change by the cash registers in McDonalds.
