Well, it's a TV show, and it needs drama to stay interesting. For all we know, Marcel might actually be able to run a kitchen staff, but for the show's sake, he had to become the wimpy villain last season.
I'm kind of surprised that Howie became the villain this season...I really thought they were setting Hung up for the role.
