When I was in high school, we boys were made to watch a film about testicular cancer, including the concept of the self-exam. The narrator said, in typical bored, flat, school-film voice, "Try to examine yourself once a month. You might use a monthly event to remind yourself. For example, when your telephone bill comes, you would know that you should perform a testicular examination."
You can just imagine the aftermath for the next couple weeks. "Hey Fred, you get your phone bill yet??"
Although I have to give them props. It was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen, but because of that I remember it to this day.
(God only knows what the girls got.)
To answer the original question, I've started working with some rubber bands and tubes to get in more exercise at home. I'm still not very diligent, but I do it more often than I get to the gym. I've thought about getting a ball.
