One of the symptoms I had which I was told was classic is that it only hurts after you have rested, particlularly overnight, and then only for a few steps.
I used gel inserts , not the whole foot, just the heel, which started to help, then got an expensive pair or work boots with this sort thing built in, which were marvelous
That was a couple of years ago and it seems to be back a bit. It may be the cushioning has worn out in the boots and/or becasue my gym shoes are old too
