Hmm Japanese cheerleaders. In Japan, self promotion is not the social norm. it's generally a collectivist society isn't it? Somehow the image doesn't fit. But i'm sure they have them somewhere. You find little girls in cheerleader costumes in England too, and may even find the odd professional squad. But they're just copying the cool Americans. I'm sure they're everywhere, but see a picture of a cheerleader and you think "America".
