Here's the deal, I have worked very hard to keep all of our smilies in one "species". They're the same size and almost all the same style.

There are a few that are slightly different because vBulletin pushed in some smilies with light gradients:

:p

I noticed the change when I installed vB3, but I figured they were close enough and actually looked good, so I left them.

Three other smilies are not of the same "species":

This comes from a different family of smilies. It was too useful not to include.

There is only one real bass player smilie on the whole net. As we know bass players are a different species anyway, so no big deal.

This guy is from a different family that puts the eyes together and makes them a little more human, and uses more animation, particularly of the face. But he's close.

If you look you can find smilie sets for all kinds of other things. I believe that some large cos (AOL, maybe Yahoo?) developed their own set of smilies with their own style. My theory is, we should not allow too many of these inferior species to infect our smilie population and pollute the purity of our crew. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
